Let’s start with the FIS crew. Last Sunday FIS finished up their block at Bromont and Caitlin Roe collected a 3rd place in the U18 division SL race. Caitlin and fellow Javelin athletes Abby Thomas, Jared Schmidt and Juice Haineault are off to the U18 Nationals at Nakiska for the week.
At the Mont Sutton OSISKO SL on Saturday, Tristan Rodgers nabbed a 2nd place podium.
The U16 were busy last week at the Canada Winter Games in BC and at the Can Am’s in Collingwood. Hunter Watson had a top 10 in the GS race on the 17th. Brandyn Cooke had a top 10 in the Ski Cross event on the 19th. Helen Hume posted a top 20 in a DNF filled GS race at the Cam Am’s.
Alberta Ski Cross were in Fernie last week. Jorgen Krause, coached the women to a 1st, 2nd and 4th position and the Men secured 2 positions in the small final.
Over the weekend U14 Spencer Watson won the Hodgins Classic Combined at Calabogie and came in 4th in Sunday’s GS event. Newcomer to the Javelin family, Keirsten Harvey joined Spencer on the podium by winning Sunday’s GS competition.
Along with Keirsten, Javelin would like to welcome Ontario Snow Boarder Griffin Haines to our Athlete Talent Team (ATT). We look forward to receiving posts and pics from our new and existing ATT members.
Now for a bit of housecleaning! On last weeks blog post, Kevan posted a question about the Ontario Team and their success in the SG events at the Canada Winter Games. Throughout the week I try to track our Javelin ATT (Athlete Talent Team) members, in any given week we have to rely on the athletes or parents emailing us with their results. There are many athletes using Javelin and we are only tracking the sponsored ATT members. So the short answer for Kevan is yes, the Ontario Team members use Javelin – we just don’t know how many.
If you have questions or comments, please contact us and we’ll try try to give you an answer or our thoughts at least!
As mentioned at the top the U18 National are being held this week. Good Luck to All and thank you for making us Podium Proven.
